How to Have the Talk Without Getting Embarrassed

The Request:
My daughter is becoming a young woman and I have no idea how to confront her about it. I'm a single father and her mother passed away shortly after childbirth. We had no idea that she developed lung cancer shortly after the birth of our child. A year later, she just left us. This was 15 years ago. My beautiful daughter is becoming a woman and I just really want her to be safe. I want her to be able to give her all the tools she needs to navigate this life properly.
And for better or worse, I know that sex is a big part of everyone's lives. How can I give her a talk about discovering herself and ways to do it safely?
